The University of California, Berkeley is one of ten public research universities affiliated with the University of California system. It is the oldest of the ten schools and was founded in 1868. The campus is located in Berkeley, California in the San Francisco Bay Area. Most people refer to the school as Cal, California, Berkeley or UC Berkeley.

The weekend program hold classes every Saturday from 9am to 6pm with two 15 minute breaks and a one hour catered lunch. The classes are held at the Berkeley campus as well as a location in Silicon Valley. Students must complete 42 credits with at least an overall grade point average of 3.0 (B). There are 18 core credits, 21 elective credits, 2 credits in experimental learning, 1 credit of an academic retreat, as well as new student orientation.
